SHAMROCK'S NEW RENO CLUSTER
« on: February 22, 2012, 07:41:40 PM »

Any guesses as to what Shamrock will put on their four new Reno rimshots?

105.3 KRZQ / Fallon (probably Alternative as the previous KRZQ 100.9)
104.1 KZZD / Fallon
106.3 KZHD / Lovelock
107.3 KEHD / Fernley

Plus there are 3 or 4 AM CP's in the Reno / Sparks area waiting to get built, not to mention Nevada's overall stalled economy.

How will this affect what already seems to be an overcrowded radio market?

They seem to have intimated: Classic Rock, Oldies, Country, Triple A

These won't be rimshots for long...each of them has a CP for some pretty powerful booster signals in the Truckee Meadows proper which should give excellent coverage in the metro.

If they're like the other Reno cluster that is not Lotus (Wilks).. they'll hire children who don't care what you pay them for drive time slots.

Any update on these signals?  I live in Vegas and not able to hear them.  Are the signals city grade?  Have they put signals on them yet?  In any event, it's nice to get some Reno action on this board.  Normally it's all about Vegas.

I mean, have they put programming on them yet...?

Don't worry about hearing them in Vegas....they're signing on in the Las Vegas market next year.

How is that going to work?  Are they buying stations?  I can't imagine that's there is enough room on the dial for more "move-ins" without being very limited signals that wouldn't properly cover the market.

No, I don't see that by viewing this site.  It doesn't even have any mention or logos of their brands.  Does the average listener know or care about the brands Cumulus, Emmis, or even Clear Channel?  Nope.  So why would they care about Shamrock?  Listeners care about the actual station and the music they play. Does this mean that they still do not have brands to promote?   Sorry, I'm in Vegas and not able to turn on these stations to hear what they're doing.
