Peter Busch Leaving
« on: March 08, 2012, 10:10:16 AM »

tvspy.com is reporting that KPHO weekend anchor Peter Busch is leaving to become the weeknight anchor at a Ft Myers Florida station.  Who will replace him?  Heather Moore?

Heather would be a great choice. She comes across as a very polished reader.
In fact, I wish she was anchoring the nooncasts.
I see Nicole, I change the channel. Ms Crites reintroduced me to FOX10 and Rick D'Amico.

I wish Peter Busch the best.

Heather Moore is great and tonight, she looks fab - she's always professional.

I like Nicole Crites - a fairly long time KPHO News reporter.
Cannot handle the strange personality of Rick D'Amico on 10.

To each his own, 'eh?        Smiley

I also like Nicole and try to watch her noon news (up until the wx segment airs) weekdays.

I also like the wacky humor of Rick D'Amico.  Watch him on the Morning Show most days and every once in awhile on the noon news as well.  He is best when sparing with one of his broadcast mates.  Old DJ too, doncha know?  He has tons of old radio stories.

You don't watch the weather segment? Is it because the weather's always the same (unless it's not the same) or you don't like the forecaster?

Yes.  Prefer someone with a personality.  10 usually has Cory doing the wx and he is more fun to watch (along with the weather that never changes).

I also don't understand why they give a weather tease minutes into the program and then spend five minutes saying the same stuff 10-15 minutes later.

Sunday 20 May, Peter Busch signed off for the last time. It was the 10:00 PM news. He mentioned how he is going to WBBH, the NBC affiliate in Ft Myers FL. Interesting, KPHO weekend weatherguesser Jason Kadah used to work at WBBH.

Busch said he's lived/worked in Phoenix for 23 years. Since he looks to be in his mid-30s, that means he spent most of his life here.

There's gotta be a back story here.  Ft. Myers is a much smaller market than Phoenix.  Don't talking heads usually move up in market size?

One element of the back story is that Peter is becoming the primary evening anchor in Ft. Myers.  Often, secondary (weekend or morning) anchors in a larger market will move to a smaller market to become the primary weeknight anchor.  For more on the back story, check cbs5az.com!  Cheesy
