Sad story, but I had to break it to you: Mike DelFino (James Denton) was found shot and murdered by Donny The Loan Shark's henchmen. and next week, Denton will narrate "Women & Death"-which features Renee singing "Amazing Grace" at his funeral. And The Police will come hard on Bree, as she tells the truth to everybody.

A technicality.....Mike wasn't "discovered" - he was shot on his front porch after pushing Susan out of the way when he saw the gun.

I thought I read that they wanted someone sexy (in a cool way) on Wisteria Lane again. Pretty much to do what Nicolette Sheridan did, as it worked well in the early seasons.

They must have changed their minds because Vanessa was never the "sleep around slut" that Sheridan's character was.  In addition, I have read that Cherry wasn't all that trilled with Sheridan's locker room antics off screen.

Personally, I liked Sheridan better because she could bring humor into the generally dark storylines of that period.  Vanessa is a much more limited character.

They decided to make Dana Delany the nemesis for awhile (fortunately she got her own show-Body of Proof) and used the Soprano/Joey Drea De Matteo.

That whole Delany/Black family in the basement period was terrible.  Not only was it not entertaining but it made absolutely no sense.  Once again, I don't think Cherry had thought out just what kind of program he was making.

Too bad for Nicolette that she wasn't originally one of the four leading ladies, but was used just as a nemesis for Susan. At the same time, I'm not sure her lawsuit has much merit as characters are fired (or killed off) series all the time in tv.

True, but as I understand the lawsuit, it isn't that she was killed off but rather the way she was treated on-set.  Whether that has merit remains to be seen.

That season where Delany's character went insane, especially where she had Teri Hatcher's character arrested and sentenced, was awful.  Dreadful and a cheap way to fill Nicolette's void.  That, along with the random characters (anyone remember Kathy's Najmy's wacko police officer who was never seen again after one episode), waste of several actors (Alfre Woodard, Drea DeMatteo, Vanessa, etc.), and especially the five-year time jump were what ruined the show for me.  I do wish the remaining actors on the show well.

I'm sorry Mike is gone, but for a minute there I thought it was susan and that would have been really bad.

I've been mostly happy with the show this season and I really hate that it's ending.

Dana Delany has a much more enjoyable role now but I hear that one might not last.

I've missed "Ugly Betty" so it's nice to see Vanessa williams in a more toned-down version of her evil character.

Apparently, it looks like Dana Delaney might go back to DH, reprising her role as Katherine Mayfair, Vanessa has landed herself in another ABC Show, "666 Park Ave" as she plays The Wife of Gavin Doran, who happens to be played by "LOST" star Terry O'Quinn. In fact, The Dorans happens to be an Interracial Couple, with Vanessa, who happens to be African-American while Terry O'Quinn happens to be Caucasian. "666 Park Ave" comes from WBTV & Alloy Entertainment.

Yeah, but she could still come back before then.

I enjoyed last night except for all the crying and stuff. Too bad we can't have more normal happy family moments like Mike, Susan and MJ eating hamburgers.

I believe Renee has really did lend her singing voice on "Amazing Grace" during Mike's funeral-Courtesy of The very poignant Vanessa Williams, who happens to be in fact a singer in her own rights.

I'm curious as to why they didn't do a close-up of her singing.

I walked past the house of someone named Delfino just after it happened. I wonder if they knew or were even aware of the show?
