Flashback with Matt Pinfield
« on: March 13, 2012, 08:47:09 PM »

I've been waiting for someone else to mention this show on here after the recent host change, put I  guess the show must not be as popular as I thought. Anyway, for those who listen, what do you think of Matt Pinfield as the new host?  I think the show suffers greatly without Bill St. James personality and sense of humor. It seems like the affiliates must agree. Before the host change, I could hear Flashback on 3 stations here in East Tennessee (one serving Crossville, one in Knoxville, and one in Johnson City.). Since Pinfield took over, it's been dropped in the first two markets and only airs on the Johnson City station now. Does anyone else have an opinion about this show?

I have always liked Matt on 120 Minutes on MTV and even the new show witch only airs once a month I think on MTV2 is good. However no one can replace Bill St. James. Not shocked that Flashback as lost stations with the change. Bill is back with a new show from united stations called Time Warp. Hopefully those stations will pick that show up soon.

I loved Bill St James on Flashback. I didnt listen every week, but when I got a chance to listen I loved it. Nothing against Pinfield, but the show is nothing more than a shadow of its former self now. Bill St James WAS Flashback. Unfortunately, my affiliate didnt pick up "Time Warp"

Thanks for the info on Time Warp. I'm actually listening to the show right now as the Knoxville station (WIMZ) which dropped Flashback has now picked up Time Warp.  It's great to hear Bill St. James back on the radio.

I tuned in again this week hoping to hear Time Warp, but we're still getting Pinfield here. How does Time Warp compare to Bill's Flashback?

It sounds just like the old Flashback to me which is great. I have a feeling more stations will pick this up. I just realized that the only station in my listening area still airing Flashback is a Cumulus station which of course distributes the show and probably forces them to air it.

I emailed my PD and he said they have no intention of picking up Time Warp, and will be keeping Pinfield...boo.  I wonder if Time Warp is only available in the 4 hour format (they air the 2 hour version of Flashback). They arent't Cumulus, so they aren't being 'forced' to run Pinfield's Flashback
