Changes coming to The River?
« on: March 16, 2012, 01:10:31 PM »

From Inter Adam's post on Facebook today, and a tease I just heard from Woody And Jim, there is supposed to be an announcement of a "Big Change" coming to The River today at 5pm.    Any speculation on what it could be?

Effective immediately, Clear Channel is offering Peyton Manning ownership of the radio station, and as such, it has been renamed 107.5 The Peyton

Whenever the River says a big announcement is coming, it's something like that. They feel that their soooooooo good why change what there doing. That's right River keep playing the same songs every hour, that's what makes you the best.

Didn't do a similar stunt with Taylor Swift before, or am I thinking of another station?

Nope, that was them...or so I here.  I've only been living here for 2 years.

True...it's working for them though.  They are doing well in the ratings..I would of been very surprised if they did change formats

Geez ... Honestly in this age of never take risks radio, it was a decent idea. Agree...the game is over. But, it did take some quick moves to get the Peyton cuts all put together.

I'm sure it was more planned in advance than they are leading us to believe.  For example, the liner for Open House Party over the weekend is recorded by the show host, I'm sure that would of had to be done in advance.   I did hear one spot over the weekend that still had The River tagline, I believe it was the one for Intern Adam's birthday.
