CC Minot now streaming - what are the other ones like?
« on: April 01, 2012, 01:11:38 AM »

Just discovered Clear Channel Minot is streaming their stations online. I always thought Mix 99.9 was hot AC until now. Is the other station in the area 102.9 KWGO hot AC? KTZU 94.9 pure classic rock? Wonder why those don't have a stream..

I make it to Minot at least once a year. The other group of stations are way behind the 8-ball in that market. They don't even have a Facebook page let alone an actual site or stream. Not sure how they're actually selling against Clear Channel. Sure, CC may be using Premium Choice to fill most of the slots but you still get a good sense of community listening to their cluster. If I was a local indie going against a powerhouse like CC, I'd be damn sure I had a Facebook page at the very least!!!
The last time I heard `WGO, it sounded fairly close to MIX 99.9. A very broad HOT AC. As a radio nerd, I enjoy listening to WGO the most as I can hear Premium Choice jocks Sisanie & Billy The Kidd anywhere. WGO is a very `local' sounding station.
For the rockers, The Zoo's playlist was much older compared to CC's The Fox.
