The current ads that annoy me the most are those idiotic (and incessant) State Farm ads with Jerry Newman calling Jessica and crying about his latest accident and how lame his new insurace company is.

TV ad. However it is really ANNOYING! About as annoying as "1-877-KARS-4-KIDS" on the radio, just like we're talking about.

With those State Farm spots as an exception, the insurance company ads that have hit in the last year are pretty damn good in the creativity. GEICO really started something hot with the caveman bit a few years ago and carry on with the lizard.  Farmers and Progressive are both excellent as well. USAA is good for the serious type side. Nationwide is ok but sort of lame..Aflac hasnt recovered yet. They shouldnt have canned the original guy that did the voice..I cant remember his name but he was the sound and image of their spots..What they have now doesnt land..Whatever, its been great watching them all throw mega bucks at the market-share battle..

Unfortunately, those Jerry Newman State Farm ads are on the radio too. Numerous spots.

Ah. You and Wonderfulwino are thinking of Gilbert Gottfried, who was actually the voice of the AFLAC duck.

"I'm over HERE! I'm over HERE!" - He on Hollywood Squares.

"AFLAC."

Don't you remember that other Hollywood Squares episode in the late 90s when Tom Bergeron was host-Gilbert Gotfried got so irritated at the contestants for getting his answers wrong-"YOU FOOL!!"

Well, "Wonderful Wino," I guess you've really had too much to drink. Every time I see or hear a Progressive commercial with that annoying Flo character, I can't change the channel fast enough.

Agree about Flo and Progressive commercials!  That actress has made a bundle of money with those spots.  I guess annoying sells. The one with the centaur is a bizarre way to sell car insurance.

Haven't heard it in awhile, but I always liked the Wally Park commercial jingles, but then that's because "Lollipop" by The Chordettes was always an adorable song.
