Well, if I ever end my XM subscription and lose Outlaw Country, I'll have to give them a try.

Mojo Nixon is a certifiable nut job. He's perfect for the format.

"I LOOOOOOOOVE country music!"

With Mikey out of the picture this would be a great time for a format flip on 94.9 as they still can't get above a 1 share, but then again I've been saying that station should flip for over 6 months and they would rather lay off employees than change.

Three of the reasons people used to really like 94.9 were music in the mornings, a more adventurous playlist than 91X and their FM 94-9 Recommended tracks that you couldn't hear anywhere else at all.  They've brought back music in the mornings and put the playlist basically back to the way it sounded before, minus the recommended stuff.  Two down one to go and then let's see what happens to the #s.

Do they have the budget to let people know they've changed? Those who left them long ago probably do not tune in once in a while to see if anything's changed, so some outside promotion would seem to be in order.

Dam.KGB dropped like a rock...

Except for Coe they've got lame jocks with nothing interesting to say and little of understanding of how to say it. KGB made its mark with music AND personalities and they've had some great ones over the years, but now it's frankly amateur hour. They may be nice guys, but they are not great talent.

Agreed, but many would argue adventurous alt. won't work with PPM.  So it will be very interesting to see what happens if they stay the course with this sound through next month as it just changed back a few days ago.

...And I take back my earlier comment about them dropping the "recommended" tracks; they were dropped for 3 months but now are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The old sound of FM 94/9 is fully back!

..yet another retraction lol... the fm 94.9 recommended tracks (the unique songs that they would play to differentiate themselves not only from 91X but also from every single other commercial alternative station in the country) are back on their website [meaningless] but are not getting daily airplay according to the music logs, so the old sound of the station is not fully back yet.

I am sure KGB took a weird hit, and not the first time. But they will bounce back up no doubt. But fully agree, Coe is THE jewel of that crown and I hope they know that.  There are really good deejays in town, but she really is best female and one of the best period.  Hmmm I wonder how the whole thing will shake out with the new lineup at 94.9?? Has anyone heard from Mikey?

Coe is one of the greatest people EVER I could listen to her all day! But I also love listening to Bromo. The rest of KGB isnt what it used to be but neither is the rest of radio.
