Before you do this, see how much bandwidth you are allowed. On my budget Comcast service, my data allotment is 250 GB. Video sucks bandwidth. You don't want excessive data overcharges or being throttled.
You are correct. Being in Canada, I had a "sim sub" blocking out All the American ads on Television for the Super Bowl. To solve that problem I watched the game online. I got the game, and I got my bill...luckily, I (somehow) did not go over. That was Rogers lite!!!
Different companies DO maintain different restrictions though, so it's good to keep an eye on that!
