How common is it for a CHR to ignore a top 3 hit?
« on: March 25, 2012, 07:52:07 PM »

OK so this has been discussed on the SC board, but I'm wondering how common it is...

Here in Greenville, SC, WFBC is literally ignoring Nicki Minaj / David Guetta "Turn Me On."  It's currently #2 on CHR.  They play it maybe once a day.  The most plays they ever gave it in a week was maybe 20-25, and that was several weeks ago.  This station has never been one to do something like this and plays everything by Minaj that's been on CHR.  "Starships" is getting moderate play.

How common is it for a CHR to do something like this with a big hit?  Q100 in Atlanta comes to mind when they ignored Minaj's "Super Bass" for the longest time last year.  WNKS/Charlotte did the same thing with "It Will Rain" and "We Found Love" when  they were popular.
