Very unfortunately (for me) I happened to hear about 10 minutes today of the new Shawn Ireland & Co show on WTVN, "the stuff women talk about", as they billed themselves.

O!M!G!

That was some seriously horrible radio. John Corby admits that his show sucks, but these folks make him sound like the Greatest Ever! They were that bad.

If that really is "the stuff women talk about", I am certainly glad I am not a woman.

Vapid horsecrap! Several hours of radio static would be preferable programming instead of those dolts. Last time I make the mistake of tuning into that garbage. I fear I am scarred for life, mentally.

So you're saying you liked it and you think they are going to find a real audience with it.... Grin

Wasn't she on WNKK and WHOK on Sunday morning? If she was on WTVN how did she get to go there without a noncompete clause? Dj's usually have to go through that when changing jobs with stations owned by someone else.

So what did they talk about??  Is this the same show she had on WNNK?

Maybe the shows are brokered so she's not an employee.

Bingo!  My guess is this show is a "brokered" type show... she's not an employee of Clear Channel or Wilks etc.. so she's not got a contract to wait out.

During the Longest 10 Minutes Of My Life That I Will Never Get Back segment I listened to they talked about vodkatinis and other ways to spice up your vodka drink of choice; they talked about always-unfriendly people, and something else equally stupid.

A complete train wreck just in those 10 minutes.

I still shudder this morning when I think about it.

That's was what I thought when I listened to that show yesterday afternoon.. She is selling her own ads for that show so it must be a "brokered" type show.
She had been doing that show on 107.1 every Sunday mornings up until two weeks ago. That show also appeared brokered on 107.1.

Now, what about Chuck? Will he be back on WTVN soon? It doesn't look good for him.

Actually, life through Chuck's eyes is looking pretty doggone sweet! Sometimes things happen when and where you least expect them...look what roses grow from!

Chuck,

I meant to say that it dose not look good for you to be back on the air Saturday and/or Sunday at
WTVN. Shawn Ireland said this is her new time slot on WTVN. This used to be the time
you were on the air.

What about Saturday Morning Open Phones? Will you be taking that show over again?

Doubtful. Frankly, the only reason I did anything I did in that building was for the pleasure of doing my Sunday show. I kept thinking maybe Beck's head would explode or Corby would decide to live a life of leisure or somebody would figure out that talk radio works best when people can talk far better than when they listen to pre-recorded shows... none of that came to be, and so I never got to expand beyond that one day each week....but I LOVED that day!
