OK, so I grew up in Roch and I am back this week visiting relatives. I hit town Monday night, turned on 'CMF and heard Black Sabbath's "War Pigs." Cool, I thought, a tune I haven't heard in years in the city where I now live. But I just turned on CMF this morning, and guess what? Yep, "War Pigs." Are they down to just a couple of records now, or what?

Ha....this has been my main bitch and complaint for YEARS....CMF plays the same shit day in day out....same Clapton stuff....same Queen stuff...Hendrix....Beatles......the SAME SHIT EVERY DAY! WHY?? WHY OH WHY doesn't anyone listen and play something different? I mean..the Beatles did record more than "Revolution" and "Strawberry Fields".....Hendrix did record more than "Purple Haze" and "Hey Joe"..... But that's all your going to hear. I'll never get it....

WLLW 99.3 FM out of The Finger Lakes plays more than just a song or two by those artists. They clearly have it over WCMF these days. Quite a few deep cuts too.
(For example, by Queen they play: Keep Yourself Alive, Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, You're My Best Friend, Somebody To Love, Tie Your Mother Down, Fat Bottomed Girls, Bicycle Race, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Another One Bites The Dust & Under Pressure.)
I know they have played at least 4-5 different Black Sabbath cuts. (The usual 3 and Ive also heard Sweet Leaf & Children Of The Grave)

Yeah, I expect WLLW will be crushing WCMF - and WFXF - any day now. At least in the eastern suburbs.

Back in the early 2000's I was in L. A. crusin up & down the freeways listening to KCBS-FM The Arrow. They were classic rock with a heritage line up of jocks. The music they played was great, at first. Then after couple days I noticed they were playing were playing the same songs over & over again everyday. It was almost like listening to a CHR station. Soon after that they changed to Jack. I've always been convenienced that CBS was purposely trying drive away listeners as an excuse to kill the station so they could fire all the staff and put that crappy Jack on.

I feel this sudden urge to rip the sleeves off my shirt... Only in America! Hey wait...it's an entertaining show...it has CONTENT (sometimes right in your backyard)...educational (really, it is) and it's ON CABLE. Also, there is no "theater of the mind"...you can actually watch it AND have a beer. Just another example of radio's nemesis...nothing more...nothing less. That's all HDBG

Hey, WLLW has a hell of a signal (Reaches 13 counties: East Rochester to West Syracuse and the lake to Steuben county) and WOULD crush WFXF and WCMF if given the chance to compete and were in the same area.
