...Has anyone ever noticed a couple bloopers in the pilot episode.  When Johnny rakes the needle across record of "Your [sic] Having My Baby" by the Halelujah Tabernacle Choir, the volume is turned down but you can still hear the needle scrape.  When he starts the rock and roll record on the other turntable he bumps the turntable arm and the needle is riding on the label near the center hole but you can still hear the music playing...

I thought the fact that they retained "You're Having My Baby" in the original episode was a blooper in and of itself - doesn't MTM/Fox now owe whoever penned that song royalties?

...that "whoever" is Paul Anka. And, yes, they do owe him royalties...

While it is true that Johnny announced the record as "Your Having My Baby" by the Halelujah Tabernacle Choir.  the acutal song being heard doesn't sound anything like the Paul Anka hit.  Its just choir repeating the phrase "Your Having My Baby"  I don't think the tune was the same either.  I remember seeing the show when it first ran in the 70's, so I'm pretty sure thats the same version.  Johnny was mocking the record while it played.  If the song was completlely differnt from paul anka, then they shouldn't have to pay royalties.  (besides, ifI was Paul Anka, I would burn every copy of terrible song that I could get my hands on)  It was crap in 74, and it's still crap.  *shuddering* everytime I hear it in my head
