Is Jerry Minshall the last Nashville radio newscaster?  What explains his longevity?

Excellent delivery and good pipes. Been in the market since 1977 at WJRB, WSIX, WLAC, WSM and WWTN. Also did news on CH-17 back in the Bob Zelley and Multimedia ownership.

Well said, Watt.

In addition to all that, you'll never meet a finer gentleman.

Jerry Minshall is one of the best to come to Nashville.

When I saw this I was reminded of a story I saw that noted that Atlanta is getting a Dickey Newser station. Do you think Nashville could support a Newser format? Maybe a Talk station with more of a news influence than we  currently have?

Jerry was also a great gospel quartet lead singer when he sang with the Marksmen Quartet.

Except for 1992/1993 I have always lived within earshot of Nashville radio.  I think Nashville had two of the best news stations in WLAC-AM and WSM-Am in the past.  If Nashville could support a News station those two would still be fighting it out.  My 2 cents.

well said Guru. Up until 2002...we had some great battles...and you could find out the news ... unfortunately, Gaylord became a Hotel company, went public and felt, like most companies...and if I were a stock holder I'd agree.. they had to please the shareholders.  As for WLAC...always a good competitior...and Clear Channel bought them.  Nuff said
