Aside from JT, Ben Maller and the occasional fill-in from John Fricke, FSR doesn't any real compelling personalities. It was much better under the late Andrew Ashwood's direction.

You are correct, FSR will never be ESPN. They definitely should add more personalities and brand themselves in the direction of more personality driven Sports Radio! At least they would be a more entertaining network to listen to!

I hear too much personality on FOX or should I say "guy talk". It kind of reminds me of the failed FREE FM stations. ESPN has serious discussions about sports and the current games. FOX often goes way off topic.

I tried to listen to FOX sports today. These were the first (and last) three words I heard ..."Clint Eastwood Brah".  That's what's wrong with FOX. There is NBA and NHL playoffs and a full slate of MLB. Instead they talk about Clint Eastwood. Plus I don't like guys who say "bro" or "brah" whether it's on the radio or (especially) IRL. Guys that use those words are questing for dominance and are unpleasent to listen to or be around.

Fox Sports Radio has always perplexed me, because they are clearly aiming to entertain and be welcoming to the casual sports fan, yet they are owned by Clear Channel, who for the most part doesn't do FM sports. It seems like that is what Fox Sports Radio was made for.

There's already plenty of sports talk available, in our area, at least. ESPN is on FM AND on AM, and on tv and the .com they are always promoting.
The details of the games, before, during, and after the games, only means something to the people who are going to be watching the game. I'm not that into the details, really. Byt the time I remember what defense the Bears need to play against the Ravens, the game is over, and I really had no control over it anyway. It's just 24/7 sports team advertising, to me.

So I like that FSR is not trying to copy ESPN. There's already enough of that. I don't hear FSR enough to make any kind of judgments about how they carry it off, but I like the idea...
