Dan rips NFL Network
« on: April 17, 2012, 01:31:48 PM »

Listening to Dan Patrick this morining as he was discussing the NFL schedule coming out and the fact that he didn't like Thursday Night games on NFL Network. He said he likes Rich Eisen but NFL Network has failed when it comes to distribution. He was on a roll when stating that Commissioner Roger Goodell is trying to "feed" NFL Network games on Thursday night in order to help them get ratings. Love when Dan gets to speak without his kids interupting him every three minutes.

My cable provider does not carry the NFL Network so it sort of sucks but I actually enjoy watching the ESPN college offerings on weeknights, the games are usually really fun to watch. I am glad they have the home team rule so that a local station can show an NFL Network game when the home team is involved, provided it is sold out of course. Should be interesting when Rich comes on the show, usually Friday mornings.

Stick the NFL Network up your special place Godell. I hope my carrier never offers it. Good for Dan I heard him say it too. I hope the ratings stink. Now stop making that stupid deal with DirectTV you freaking idiots.

Then again, when you host a low rated program on NBC Sports Network, perhaps you shouldn't get all holier-than-thou about another channel's distribution.

Bet Patrick didn't say anything about that.   He's had a streak of dumb rants lately.

At least people can see NBCSN, though. Patrick is right in that NFL Network has failed miserably with its distribution. It launched eight years ago. There shouldn't still be this many holes in their coverage.

NFL Network would have been distributed far more widely if they had a per subscriber fee of, say, eight cents per month, not ten times that amount.  Cable companies say NFLN's programming isn't worth 77 cents per subscriber per month, especially not on a basic tier.

I agree with the cable companies.

Maybe I have missed it but what show does Dan host on the NBC Sports Network? He does Football Night on national NBC and his radio/TV show on Direct TV and Fox.

He hosted an NFL related show on there during football season.
