American Top 40 the 70's will be doing an episode that Dick Clark did as a fill in host this weekend. I don't know what station in your area carries it.

AT 40 the 70s has no affiliate in So. Central PA.  This particular show was broadcast last Sunday morning on WLIF 101.9 Lite FM in Baltimore, so it may have already aired on other affiliate stations as well.  The show was from this week in 1972, I think.

Baltimore residents undoubtedly know Dick Clark for many things, but American Bandstand isn't among them.  The ABC affiliate in those days was WJZ 13, which aired their own very popular daily teen dance program, the Buddy Deane Show, and never broadcast the classic weekday version of Bandstand at all.  There were many markets around the country that never saw American Bandstand, some of them rather large.  Considering how popular and influential the show was, it must be strange to be a lifelong resident of one of those areas and have this vast cultural hole called American Bandstand that you knew nothing about.

The show carried here in Columbus was from 1979. They did advertise that they will run the show next week. Clear Channel's WODC carries it here. And Here in Columbus American Bandstand and Soul Train ran back to back on Saturdays.
