Radio in the movies

Caught the movie "Killing Streets" Monday on MyTV.  The opening scenes are set in Dayton, Ohio and there's a part where the clock radio goes off and you hear a short "staged" clip featuring Bob Sweeney and Charles Van Sant, morning team  on the old Lite 100 WVUD.  Got me wondering if any other tri-state radio stations/people have been in movies.  Anyone remember any others???

WKRP's late, great Gordon Jump was originally in sales at a radio station in Cincinnati, and Gary Sandy is from the Dayton area.

Chris & Rob from WAIF's Chris & Rob Late Night Talk Show can be heard about 13 minutes into last year's (2011) documentary on Ken Kesey called "Magic Trip".

...oh, and all the guys from Burbank's show were in Michael Moore's "The Big One". Including Gary, Rob Ervin & Duke Sinatra.

When I was in Columbus, Tom Hanks called asking permission to use the WCOL call letters in his
movie, "That Thing You Do".  He was granted such with the caveat that for that permission, we wanted him to do an on-air interview with us.   He agreed and I interviewed him that afternoon.  And, if you look quick in the movie, you'll see the call letters in a quick scene with a radio dj in a (very fake looking) studio...

Remember the 1978 film 'FM"?

Remember Jeff Dugan (played by Michael Brandon) racing to the station before "Life In The Fast Lane" by The Eagles fades to dead air?  (as the graveyard DJ already left.)  Also remember poor 'ol Doc Holiday (Alex Karrass) having his on-air trobles with the cart machine among other things before Dugan gives him the ax....weren't many of us struggling souls in the biz just like him back in the 70s?
