Since we're talking about 98.7 from the 1960's, here's their first set of jingles from 1966, featuring "The Sound Is..." .. this pre-dates "The Big Town Sound" ..

Yep, a "progressive, underground" station had jingles.

WEXI, a suburban Chicago station, used this package (a CRC numbered package, written by Tom Merriman and recorded in New York with the "Tonight Show" band, supposedly--I wouldn't be surprised if that's Doc Sevrinsen hitting those high trumpet notes) in their latter days as a Top 40--while using "The Big Town Sound" as their slogan, ironically.  The only time Chicago heard the Johnny Mann Singers was in the WCFL Chuck Blore jingles until the 90s, when WJMK used the hour open cut from the original Drake package--the rest of the package at the time was all a cappella, but I don't believe it was the Mann singers singing.

With the last two hours on Kiss being a special live week in review and before that show REV. AL was on Will there actually be a last song before the 1201 AM Switch. Was the last song earlier in the day before all the public service / news shows and if so what was it ?

You knew this thread was coming, folks...

I opt for The Manhattans' "Kiss And Say Goodbye." Not just because the group name doubles as one of New York's boroughs, but of course, the title... duh.

By the way, just so we're all on the same page... This switch is expected to take place Monday morning, not Sunday morning, right? I have seen some sources report the flip being "at 12:01 AM Sunday".

I absolutely agree with that song.  Fits the situation perfectly.

I have a feeling they may not have a last song. Sounds like they may be just taking calls for the rest of the hour.

They already changed the banner to ESPN New York 98.7 on the Tunein app.
