I am not a big TALK fan. I would be a lot more likely to listen to news than talk (but probably for less
than 10 minutes at a time).
Most all-news stations advertise themselves to listen "3, 4, 5 times a day" (680 in Toronto is a great example). Wonder if WYAY would do the same?

As a former alum of 106.7, I'd like to say I think this will be good for Atlanta radio.  When you stir the pot things change, usually for the better.  RIP Wide 106.

Hmmm...wonder what the last song will be?

How about..."I Heard It Through The Grapevine....Not Much Longer Will You Be Mine"

Good news. Atlanta needs an all-news station. Wonder if it'll be 24/7. 106.7 has a really good signal. It carries farther east than the other Atlanta FMs due to its transmitter.

I've heard it as far E as Thomson, GA before Columbia cuts in.

They possibly could do a news network for at least the Southeast supplying their stations.

Charleston, who had like a five-person news staff at WTMA a decade ago, is down to four or five people working the entire station. The morning news except for the local talk bits is mostly state or national bits. Columbia doesn't even have that many working at WISW.

Sad that oldies will be gone again (3 times in less than a decade) but this is important. WSB needs a rival.

Ya know..even if 106.7 is EVERYONE'S second favorite station..they would automatically be NUMBER 1..

If everyone listening to radio tuned to 106.7 for 10 minutes as has been posted....think about it

For all of Cumulus' faults (and there are many), you have to give them props for at least attempting this. We all know there are many less-expensive formats that they could attempt which is typically their M.O.  And it's risky too, which is unlike Cumulus.  I actually hope it works. I like the idea of an all news station in Atlanta which, as Rodney pointed out, will probably be more of a hub for a national brand.

My first though was, Will Cumulus try to lure any Cox/WSB personalities or even some WGST voices for the new 106.7 and/or Atlanta news hub?  Then I wondered if any CNN reporters/anchors would be allowed to work for both CNN and Cumulus if there isn't a CNN tie-in.

I was confused at first by the launch of WCOA 100.7 FM in Pensacola with overlapping coverage of Mobile, AL and Fort Walton Beach, FL (and to a lesser extent Biloxi, MS) because they can't carry the top talk shows due to existing contracts with stations in those other markets.  Now that I see they are moving into the News Radio business with the base in Atlanta, it all makes sense.   I'm now guessing WCOA-FM 100.7 Pensacola/Mobile was launched to work the bugs out before they go whole hog in Atlanta.

I guess we can expect Cumulus to launch Class C FM News/Talk stations in several larger and mid-sized markets soon, especially in Georgia, Bama, The Carolinas, Tennessee and Louisiana.

Total yuk.  I want a real oldies station that plays 60's and 70's, guess that is a distant memory on terrestrial radio..My preset button will go away from 106.7, sad.  They are going to be the bottom in ratings.
