Former CH 5 Anchor Dies in Tampa

You might remember Bill Ratliff from Channel 5 back in the hay day.....He died this afternoon.

Thank you for putting this on-line.  Bill also worked at WCNW in the late 1960's and then WCKY.  In addition to his success in radio and TV, Bill was a very nice guy.

When was he on channel 5 Kid? Can't say that I recall the name.

When I started in radio in 1967, most broadcast equipment used tube technology, all recorded music was played from records on a turntable by live DJ's, there was no satellite delivery...and radio was fun.

It was approximately in the mid-1970's.  Bill did the weather and also filled in at the anchor desk.  From there, he went to:  Lexington, Detroit and Dallas before going to Tampa about 30 years ago.

Ah ha...I left Cincy in the mid 70's. Guess I was an Al Schottlekotte fan until the day I exited.
