Tibbs...I just read this thread for the first time this morning and my blood pressure went up 5 notches.....ROB.....Get your head our of your a**....Every radio station doesn't exist to please you. Urban has its place in the market....just because you don't like urban doesn't mean there aren't 100,000 or more people within the Pensacola/Mobile market that do.

I had better stop while I am ahead.

I just wish they'd bring Arnetta the Moodsetta back in to do the flip...Even if it never flips.

no more calls please...we have a winner!  "I quit this b----!"

The former announcer for WBLX-FM referenced above was actually called "Inetta the Moodsetta". As for the post by cceng, if you are angry and cannot post anything pleasant in response to another user, do not response to that person.

To Mr. Poledo, agreed!

After all He does work in radio broadcasting.

He has many years of experience.

Besides that, Mobile can support several Urban formatted radio stations.  They have enough support to keep them all going.  To those who still wish for the demise of WBLX, not happening.  It's going to stay for years to come.  Heck even I know that WBFZ 105.3 FM will stay put too.  They're not going anywhere.  This station will be around for years to come, as well.

I even realize that if you were to completely take away the average WBLX Mobile and/or WBFZ Selma, mass protests would be waged against the person(s) that were guilty of bringing about their demise. And yes these protests would be loud and vocal.  There would never be an end to them.  Unless someone were to restore their Urban formats back to them.  When that happened, the protests would end and the remover would be so tarred and feathered that they would never be able to show their face again in those places.  Matter of fact that person would be forced to relocate to some other community, for his own safety.

Just my two cents.

If you want to know who is changing. Become friends with the station engineer.

If he has a box with a memo that says can you change the inputs on Wxxx and put in this new Sat or automation system by Monday morning and oh by the way mums the word. A format change might be on the way,  Grin

It was run up the chain to the regional programmer, and then approved by the hired consultant. Did I miss someone that wasn't on the memo"

Man, the mods are giving me a beat down and I didn't think that post was very bad.  Oh well, I can take it.  I've never been known to be nice.

Since my post was deleted I just wanted to make sure a certain poster in this thread knew that cceng is THE most well respected poster on the North Florida radio-info board.  His words are gospel.  His posts are fact.
While others may have used radio to save souls, cceng has used radio to save real human lives! (A reference to his work taking out a pirate during Hurricane Dennis.  Charlie didn't have to take the sheriff along with him, he had every right to destroy equipment and hurt people.)  Rob and the gang know of this story as "The Jammer."

and he deserves our respects.

I'd like to thank you guys for the history.
Please remember, no human being is perfect, and we all have a lot to learn on this damn planet.

Remember, radio without listeners is like a bank account without any money. Cherish us 'cause we do have choice. and while on 98 today, I saw many-a car with XM antennas. (sirius or xm, whatever the hell it's called)

I'm sorry to have pushed buttons but, I just wanted to state some theories of mine based on what I'm seeing across the dial.

The whole lineup on 100.7 is a joke. I'm still angry at them for not even having Dave Ramsey or Clark Howard on.

I got really bored with "Dead Eye Radio" gave them a few chances and said.. bleh

Mario --- ccengs just playing along with the on-going love for rob. Its part of our nostalgia on this board for the past few years. WE LOVE ROB. We love his map quests, we love his tropo, we love his strobeys (gotta be careful there) and on and on. Don't go trying to change the love. Haha.

Now as for Armetta or whoever she is or was, all I did was look up the first YouTube video and got the info from who posted that link. I don't care what her name is, that is pretty much the greatest going away present I have seen Crumulus. I'd hire her for what humor she's gotta have and spunk. Wonder what she's doing.

Now, rob, I do respectfully gotta tell ya that the Great 98 wasn't a station I ever heard existed on 98.1 since like the mid-1980s and well on after. The only great station I've ever know to have existed was the GREAT won oh ate.  That's 108 down on the right side of the radio dial. Not the middle and it was in Panama City, but maybe my memory was all clouded.

And for what it is worth...rob. This board would not be the same without you!!! I kinda hope you never leave Navarre, because it will be a lot less interesting on here. As. For Charlie, gotta agree. I have three Panhandle legends that are the greatest and most real --- CCENG, Jimmy W and Mark Carter. Sure there are lots others I just haven't thought about in years as I get old-er.

Gotta say, sir...ROB ---the line about listeners and bank accounts is spot on awesome. Been preaching that for years.
