Fox Returns Suzy Garcia to Hudson Valley Radio
« on: May 08, 2012, 07:01:18 AM »

It's a good move for them. She is on the group's flagship station in the afternoon, (their money maker) which broadcasts as far South as Nyack, Harriman, New City, Tarrytown etc in the Hudson Valley Market. They also broadcast on a translator in the Poughkeepsie Market which recently increased power. She sounds smooth, engaging and professional as she always does. She is the perfect voice and personality for Adult Contemporary.

But Callahan Broadcasting is right. They sound VT'd most of the time. Maybe it's a tech issue and they can't go live.

I would also refer them to formatics 101: never two unfamiliar songs in a row and most importantly word economy with the imaging (which really needs help). Also, Jocks should read sponsorships over song intros so they're less intrusive and keep the momentum going.

That's good, maybe she will also do some fill-ins on Fox Oldies, this would be a great idea. I remember when Bob Miller used to do some fill-ins on Fox Oldies before he moved over to WBPM back in October, so I hope Suzy will be his replacement as a fill-in host for either Joe Manglass, Buffalo Bob, Bob O or Van Ritscie.

Alwayson is correct in all respects---basic radio stuff: especially oldies--don't stop the music. One thought per break. Keep momentum going. IN Van ritshie's case--do not sing along. In corsino's case---Corsino feels the need to say something stupid about every song, which means stopping the music. talk over the intros/ outros. Manglass is like running a 45 rpm record at 33 rpm, slow and stops the music for chatter. Bob O is on the money. again, this is radio 101 basics...they need to tighten things up. The most important rule--do not--ever--laugh at your own jokes.....
