WWIQ weekends
« on: May 12, 2012, 10:03:40 AM »

Apparently WWIQ is going to offer us the normal boring weekend radio that has become typical of talk stations.

As I write this, a type of home fix-up/handyman show is on.  Is a colon cleanser info-mercial next?

I believe that was "At Home w/ Gary Sullivan" http://www.garysullivanonline.com, now being followed up at noon by "Handel on the Law" with Bill Handel http://www.handelonthelaw.com. No colon cleanse yet!

Also, at 12am this morning (well, 12:07, after the news break) they began running Dave Ramsey.

Gary Sullivan, Bill Handel... both syndicated by Premiere Networks, which syndicated Beck, Hannity and of course, El Rushbo... You can bet other Premiere weekend offerings like The Weekend will be on IQ's weekend roster...

I'm sure the weekend offerings have nothing to do with the Rush/Hannity/Beck contracts. I would say it has everything to do with 1)Randy put most of these shows in syndication in the first place and 2) most of the other weekend offerings from competitive networks blow.
Can you cite an example of a great weekend show not syndicated by Premiere other than Kim Kommando for talk stations? I can't. It's gotta be a short, short list.

They COULD be creative and do something different like New Jersey 101.5, but they are obviously going the boring route of a standard syndicated-heavy bland talk station.

I e-mailed them and suggested a movie review/discussion call in show. Philly hasn't had one since Steve Friedman, Mr. Movie passed away several years ago.
