Jammin' 103.1 Debuts in Austin
« on: May 08, 2012, 08:13:11 PM »

Rhythmic AC Jammin' 103.1 is on the EMF K276EL translator that formerly broadcast the Clear Channel KVET-AM-1300 sports format. It began broadcasting on Tuesday 5/8 at 3pm CT.

The 250 watt translator, which was moved into Austin from San Marcos, TX last year, is being fed by Clear Channel's KVET-HD2-98.1 which had been the "Mother Trucker" format.

According to the CCM+E release, featured artists will be The Isley Brothers, Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Rhianna, Flo Rida, and Jennifer Lopez.

The "Jammin" name had been used previously on KFMK-FM-105.9 from 1998-2009.

I'm digging it so far. Great mix of music and, best of all, it's commercial -free (for now)

Wonder if there's a stream anywhere?

Anyway, we need some new stations here in SA. Nothing's changed since 97.7 flipped.

As for Jammin 103, I hope they'll do well.

First the KGSR simulcast went away. Now the Zone. Any bets on how long before Entercom puts something new/different on 96.3, currently home to the 1370 simulcast? Emmis still has the KLBJ-AM simulcast, too.

Keep in mind, two LP stations will come on line in SA.  One is owned by CC and the other by Cox.

Anyone in Austin have a sample playlist of Jammin' 103.1?

So no more KVET Sports on FM?  I couldn't pick up 103.1 in Northwest - Far West Travis county anyway, (can easily pick up 103.1 from SA) but still it was a nice thought.  Since I can't get 104.9 that means I listen mostly to 106.9 out of Killeen, oh well i'm learing a lot more about Baylor sports that I ever dreamed possible  Wink

If I can get a good signal of 103.1 I can try to make a aircheck.  Most of the time KHHL bleeds through.

An aircheck would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!!
