1590 WVOE Celebrates 50 Years
« on: May 09, 2012, 11:46:08 AM »

WVOE is an independently-run station located in the city of Chadbourn, NC. This half-century milestone is a rarity for such a station these days. More power to them.

Congratulations are in order. First time in years I've heard anything about 1590 WVOE.  From the information in the article, it appears they're still serving their local community and doing a great job.  And they're doing it on AM too!

@TriadRadioNewsman: I believe this thread is virtually the first time someone has ever mentioned WVOE on this board! And indeed, it looks as if it'll be business as usual for at least another 50 years or so.

With all due respect, when I mentioned I hadn't heard the station mentioned in years, I wasn't referring to anything on this board.  If anyone relies on what they read on radio-info exclusively they are very misinformed. What is really sad, at least to me,  is the fact that a person can't compliment fellow broadcasters on a milestone and someone else has to make an insulting comment.  Just my opinion.
