WFSC Franklin marks 55th birthday with 5000 watts
« on: May 14, 2012, 02:58:20 PM »

Franklin, NC WFSC 1050(AM) has increased power to 5000 watts.  Station generates 1/3 of the AM/FM combo gross sales and often beats the FM in the audience ratings.

Congratulations Art.  WFSC is running a great service for the listeners around here.  when I worked for WRFR (the FM counterpart) in the early 90's the AM was kind of dated..now it sounds technically great, and the local programming is refreshing and well done.  Kudos.

Great article, Art. It's great that folks have kept a history of the station. It speaks volumes of how local radio can still be the heart of a community.
