Hi,
I'm the co-manager of an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) Internet radio station called Asheville Free Media -
http://www.ashevillefm.org . We recently completed a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for some equipment upgrades and to pay for engineering consultations and some of the expenses associated with gaining an LPFM license. We are planning to apply for an LPFM frequency when the window opens. But, does anyone know of any radio station operators in the Asheville area that are looking to get out of broadcasting and might wish to sell inexpensively or even donate a license and equipment to a non-profit? We are a community radio station first and foremost and are looking for more ways to get our programming out there. We would also be interested, if it were feasible to do so without jeopardizing our non-profit status and control of programming, in perhaps operating an existing station with the current ownership remaining in place.
We are interested in standard FM, LPFM, and AM possibilities. Contact
seandennis@ashevillefm.org if you have any leads etc.
