Does TeleSouth still hold Ole Miss broadcast rights?
« on: May 11, 2012, 11:11:37 AM »

I saw this on Tom Taylor's Radio-Info column Friday:

"Sports USA announces its college football package, beginning with the August 31 Michigan State-Boise State contest. Larry Kahn says his 12th year of offering a College Football Game of the Week offers matchups involving Alabama, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Texas, Ole Miss, Missouri, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, USA and more. The announcing corps includes Dan Fouts, John Robinson and 1995 National Coach of the Year Gary Barnett."

Does this mean that Sports USA will do one game, or do they hold the broadcast rights to all Ole Miss football games?

I'm assuming that they're single-game broadcasts. I'm wondering, though, if Telesouth or any other Ole Miss affiliate will allow other stations in their markets to broadcast the Sports USA game. I remember last year when ESPN Radio aired a Braves game, that 105.9 in Jackson simulcasted ESPN News since 930 has the broadcast rights.

It's just a single game deal. Tele South still has the rights to Ole Miss sports broadcasts as far as I know.
