IQ106.9 Processing
« on: May 14, 2012, 08:10:38 AM »

Wondering what you think of IQ106.9's processing? Sounds a bit like NJ101.5's processing but way over modulated to come up and grab you when you tune in.

I have to admit after listening to IQ106.9, they have a long way to go before any of the CBS stations loose any listeners. They would do way better if they do what NJ1015 does News/Talk Min. Fri and just play music on the weekends, but that would mean turning on the stereo pilot and the signal will be weaker.

Their signal is very week in Chester Co. But really sounds good in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

The processing on their web site sounds much better than over the over the air sound and it's in stereo.  Besides the spots sweepers and  music beds which come across in full stereo they have the reverb on the right channel only which gives a very nice stereo effect to the talk.  I wonder if they are planning to return to stereo over the air in the future. If not why go to all the trouble of producing the sweepers in stereo just for the web. Has anyone else heard the processing on the web and agree with me that it sounds better.

the OTA stream sounds better to my ears, less echo, though it is in mono, with no HD, long live WLTW!
