Curtains For FM News 101.1?
« on: May 14, 2012, 10:56:08 AM »

That's what Jerry Del Colliano is suggesting... And he also hints Sam Zell will be involved...

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

This just in...JDC hates anything Randy Michaels does, and all his speculation is that anything RM does will fail.  This is not news.

The label "Spoken Word" is a pathetic attempt to make a talk or sports station sound more sophisticated.  It's NEWS, TALK, or SPORTS, or maybe even RELIGIOUS.  But "Spoken Word?"

What would you think if someone said this:
When I have a problem with my cable or satellite I try to reach someone via the "spoken word."
We like to use the "spoken word" to communicate to our children and at work.
SPOKEN WORD FM 101.1

Does this mean that Cumulus will put the "News and Information" brand to 101.1?

@RadioKid: I'm not sure if we're allowed to do that here. However, I found this:

@Recto: Maybe all-news could be, as Jerry would call him, Fa-greed has in the cards for 94.7?  Roll Eyes

I don't know why they'd switch 94.7 to news as they are currently doing well, but never assume that Cumulus won't make the wrong move.

Agreed. JDC is a desperate man trying to make a living by creating rumors and having poor suckers subscribe to his madness.

If Sam Zell is involved, I hope they perhaps work out something like
Tribune(Zell) doing an LMA on 101.1 and making it a "WGN-FM", and bring back some of the old WGN AM people.

I mean Cumulus buying 101.1 FM for "News and Information"  not flip 94.7. I know Cumulus 2 weeks ago said that they will sell 55 stations to cover the debt of the Citadel purchase.
