Bob Pittman is a hack whose last big score was MTV - over 30 years ago---and I 'm beginning to believe that it was LUCK more then skill there--he was in the right place at the right time!
You can't deny Bob Pittman.
He was 20 when he took WMAQ in Chicago from 22nd to 3rd.
He was 22 when he took WKQX toward the top of the book.
He was 23 when he was a Program Director IN MARKET NUMBER ONE and topped his target demos with WNBC.
He was 27 when MTV launched, and then he oversaw the relaunch of Nickelodeon in the form we know today, as well as VH-1 and the Nick-at-Nite format.
After that, he increased visitors to Six Flags by almost 50% in the 90's.
After that, he oversaw growth at Century 21.
After that, he was the CEO that took AOL from 6 million to 30 million subscribers... 500%.
Those aren't all accidents. Hate Clear Channel, but you can't deny the success of Bob Pittman.
