That sucks. I just got into them not too long ago and I'm really into their music selection. I wish their current employees well.
Anybody think CC will keep the Alternative format here? Maybe as one similar to Radio 104.5 or a PC Alt format (the latter is better than nothing, though not by much)? Or any guesses as to what it will flip to?

It's a fringe signal in that it doesn't cover the whole market.  A niche format probably does best here - if not alternative, then something like urban, dance or Spanish. Boston already had a multitude of FM talk stations (provided you count sports and public outlets).

Didn't CC buy Indie 103 in LA and keep the format for awhile and try to make it work?

Yikes just saw on another board. If it were a simulcast of WXKS (AM) it wouldn't be Rush Radio, a name they gave up a little while ago.

I figured someday it might, but it's still a bit of a shock.

Coverage: as usual,  not totally accurate but...

I was a news intern there in late 83, helping out Henry Santoro, Cindy Farias and the late
Margie Coombs. Was there election night, Flynn vs. King. Had supreme responsibility at times
of getting a sandwich and tea at a place across the street for operations dir Judith Brackley.
Steve Strick, Jerry Goodwin, and Russ Mottla were there and the latter 2, maybe all 3,
got cut. The late Rich Buono ("a small Italian with everything") production dir.

Will they move the mia 1430 format to 101.7?

I hope that CC at least adds something different to the FM landscape.

Would presume with the limited signal they will play to the city.
