Mark of brw pointed out to me http://www.radio1017.com has Mia logo on it and said it could be someone running interference...I don't know if cc would tip their hand at this point. A WHOIS search turned up no info--private registration. (WHOIS is when you go to a domain name registry and enter in dom. name to see who owns it. For an extra fee, this info could be made private.)

of course anyone could reg a domain name to throw people off track; jeffkatz1017.com, country1017boston.com etc

Isn't the (famous--or should that be infamous?) Joseph Gallant the guy who has been the most vocal here about CCU putting Mia on 101.7? I do not know Gallant personally at all--have never even seen his cable TV show (not sure if it's still running), but somebody who knows him might like to venture an opinion on whether registering a bogus domain name is the sort of thing he would be likely to do. Given that Gallant's postings always seem to contain outrageous predictions even though he never seems to be joking (serious tone), I have to wonder about whether he could be behind such a prank.

To respond to Dan Strassberg:

I did not register the http://www.radio1017.com domain.

It was probably registered by someone (likely not by anyone who is a regular visitor to these messageboards) who was hoping to see users of this (and other) messageboards start threads and make comments.

If Clear Channel were to simulcast WKOX-1430 on 101.7 (which I personally think is what they'll do once they acquire the 101.7 signal), I don't think they would put up a "Radio 101.7 com" site "this early in the game".

Besides, it's still a month (July 22nd) until CC takes over the signal.

I don't think we'll know for sure what they will do with it until just a few days before they take the signal over.

By mid-July, we may see clues as to what Clear Channel might do.

I agree since a few days ago wxks fm turned off their hd, so i'm assuming talk 1200  goes to 101.7 and there will be no hd2 so why bother having an hd running then?

Tried it on my portable, 'tis true. But maybe they're just saving some electricity. Don't know if the move will happen or not. Maybe more people are listening to 1200 on I Heart Radio than on HD

93.7 HD 2 funkytown or whatever it's called is still on etc.

Well, with the recent news about WODS, we may as well see Oldies on 101.7.

WODS hasn't been an Oldies station for four years. All use of the word Oldies was dropped in 2008, '50s/early '60s music was dropped a decade ago. It became a Classic Hits station.

I never noticed the IBOC to be off to begin with, but since yesterday morning, their 107.6-ish IBOC sideband has been on, real strong——at first I thought it might be a close dead carrier, like maybe a new, local pirate testing, but when I checked on my car radio (with good, DSP selectivity), only 'XKS popping in and out as splatter is noted.
Perhaps they upped it to the enhanced level, like 'KLB’s 102.5?   Undecided
