PROPS TO KSLG
« on: April 10, 2012, 03:06:55 PM »

I have to give props to one of the best sounding Alternative stations in the country, in my opinion- KSLG in Humboldt County, CA.

I would label this station as a true alternative station. They have a full-time on-air staff and play a great mix of music. Locally owned and operated, this is quite impressive for a tiny media market. I recommend everyone take a listen and judge for yourself.

Absolutely.  KSLG is consistently one of the best, year in and year out.  A similar station to this with an even more adventurous playlist but less current-based than KSLG is 92/9 FM in Bend, Oregon.  http://www.929online.com

Yes thanks! I listen to KSLG all the time now. Absolutely the best playlist! And an hour of EDM/Dubstep on Friday night... I love it!

Musically KSLG is in my subjective view one of the top alt. rockers in the US.  The one major weakness of the station is the imaging:  Every imaging piece is the same voice saying some variation of "Humboldt's New Rock, 94.1 K-Slug."  Never have heard a station in any format with this sameness of imaging before.

One minor note on KSLG - they re-added their "preroll" to their mobile stream which is a deterrent for listening as it delays the stream.  As a listener, you'd rather get right to the music.   Smiley
