I also saw on that website WMOV in Ravenswood is forsale again for $95k.  I had several conversations with then owner, Rex Osborne.  Over the phone he said he was interested in hiring me to do an airshift and assist him with engineering, eventually taking over the engineering from him.  He said he was willing to pay me $300 for this.  Went to visit him, tour the facility and talk some more.  At the conclusion of our meeting I outlined to him the proposed job if he hired me.  "Do an airshift and help you with engineering and possibly taking over as CE for $300 per week, right", I asked.  "No", he said.  "300 per month"!  Out the door I went.

When you are asking less than $100,000 for an AM station, wouldn't you seek out a local school system, church or community group and donate it, with hopefully an attractive tax break attached and you looking like a good corporate citizen?

I also saw that stations listed for sale and went to their web site to read up on WMOV. Do they have that big of an air staff? If so maybe that's why the low price. It might be billing well but with high over head the profit just isn't there. Also does the price include the real estate?
