Cumulus / Dennis thought they could pull the wool over their eyes and essentially bury Twitch's past and reincarnate him into Tony.

Twitch has been steady deleting Facebook posts where listeners have been exposing who he really is.  He's also blocking those users.  He'll ultimately win and they'll probably change format to go along with their new identity, but we're keeping him awfully busy for now.  It won't be the stealthy transition they'd hoped it would be.

I've been a seven days a week, all-day listening Foghead for 10+ years, so this has been a punch in the stomach for sure.  With the help of this board, I'll find a replacement.  Currently it's Spectrum on XM.  They're filling the void nicely.

Snowman, I recommend KOZT in Mendocino, WEHM on Eastern Long Island or The Peak (WXPK) in suburban NY, all Triple-As that are more in line with what KFOG used to be.

"Twitch" is out -- Constantine apologized on the air this morning ("we messed up") and brought in Tim Jeffreys (ex-K-Fox) as the new morning host, promising "Intelligent radio".  Greg Gory and Melanie Annoyingvoice still there.

Fogheads are singing "Ding Dong the Twitch is dead".

Lew Dickey is in town which always makes employees paranoid. Will Dickey take credit PR blame for either change?  Or maybe he just fires PD Dennis Constintine and makes him the scapegoat.

Two weeks, wow!  Now, I know why I didn't pursue a career in radio.  As bad as the original choice was, I give management credit for bailing on the concept, however, whoever thought 'Tony, Melanie and Greg' was a good idea, probably needs to get fired.  These things have to cost Cumulus a fair amount of money.  Great to hear that 'intelligent radio' is back at KFOG.  The Bay Area is a unique place that has a large populace that is highly educated and can handle sophisticated things.  There needs to be a radio station that caters to that group.  KFOG had fit that bill for many years.  Hoping it can continue.

Constantine insisted the new morning show was his idea and his alone, even tho' word was that Tony Longo was "hand picked" by Cumulus. Whatever. "Twitch" will be dining out on this story for years. He'll go back to KY and tell all his redneck listeners what hateful a-holes San Franciscans are and they'll eat it up.

Easy on the insults, Mike. Twitch is a talented DJ, but obviously, as with other DJs, is more popular and widely accepted in one area over another. No, not all Kentuckians are rednecks, so you can get that stereotype out of your head right now. There are many insults and stereotypes we could throw out about San Fransciscans, but I will refrain, as I want to keep peace. Please be nice. I agree that Twitch moving to SF was certainly not the best idea, and I commend him for giving it a shot, but we've all got what we want back now. He's back where he belongs.

Going back to his former station, it will be as if he was on a 2 week vacation.

Tony/Twitch was on the air for 11 days.  I wonder on what day they decided that they were going to back out?  When did Dennis stop defending the new show?  Since they had someone else ready to go on day 12, I'd have to think that Tim Jeffreys must have been in consideration before and came in second place.

Someone must have known that this had a significant chance of not working out (maybe Twitch), otherwise I think they would not have kept the KY job open and running concurrently.  That made no sense.  Makes you wonder why KFOG didn't just bill it as a trial for a week or two and give the others they were considering a tryout, too, like they did for the news slot last year.  Would have saved a lot of grief.
