WTVI - New Owners, Same Staff

Folks,

I just saw where the FCC has approved the transfer of WTVI from The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Broadcasting Authority to Central Piedmont Community College.

While I wish the new owners well with the station, and hope they continue the fine tradition of independent Public Broadcasting at WTVI, I noted that the President of the CM-PBA will continue for at least a year as station manager under CPCC.

Since I have not lived in the Charlotte area for 17 years, I don't know anything of the competence of the current management and staff of WTVI.  I just hope the new owners do well with their decision to retain current management and (most of the) staff.
