As some of you already know, I operate a web-based station called Geneva Community Radio, or GCR. While the station exists solely as a webcast at present, my ultimate goal is to turn the station into an LPFM broadcaster for Geneva and the surrounding communities of the Finger Lakes.
Currently, GCR operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering a wide range of music and spoken-word programming from independent producers and reputable public broadcasters from around the world. We are, however, committed to the development of new and innovative local and regional programming. It is hoped that local and regional shows will one day replace some of the outside programming currently running on the station.
That's where you come in.
I am trying to spread the word about Geneva Community Radio in as many appropriate places as possible. As this particular board is frequented by many who have a passion for radio, I wanted to let everyone in the Finger Lakes, and in Western NY know about this station, and that we are looking for some volunteers who would like to have their own unique radio show.
We are looking for most any kind of programming. It can be music based, or spoken-word. Basically, the more original the idea, the better. Every program submission will be considered with an open mind at Geneva Community Radio.
Here is our website where you can find out more, and, of course, listen to the webcast. http://genevaradio.blogspot.com
Anyone interested in being a volunteer program host can contact GCR via one of the methods listed on the site.
Thanks, everyone, for your time. I hope to hear from some of you out there.
