I know the broadcast flavor of the year is to move news + talk stations to FM.  Before pulling the trigger CC will most likely take into account WBBM AM with the FM signal has not really pushed them ahead.  Places where the AM signal was marginal Atlanta* + DC, FM has worked wonders.  840 AM is not "signal impaired".

* All North GA AM's suffer with very poor soil conductivity.

For sound quality, 840 should bring back the AM stereo signal.  I really enjoy listening to WLS at night in stereo.

As soon as your radio gets near any part 15 monster 840 is impaired.  It's just the nature of the beast.

Another Gen X station is going away. This time in Tulsa. How long will Gen X last in Louisville?

Why not. Country is King in Tulsa.  Guess Gen X isn't, however the music there was a bit better
than Louisville.  Maybe we'll see Gen X shift to 97.9 since W250BD just got permission to go to 200 watts.
W250BD is broadcasting K-Love, however the tech box for the application shows WLGX.
So what does that mean?

I could mean K-Love is going to use the HD2 signal of WLGX to feed the translator.  Clear Channel and EMF have worked out translator for HD2 programming rights swaps in several markets.

The GenX station in Tulsa, Oklahoma flipped to country this afternoon as 1061 The Twister  http://www.genxtulsa.com/main.html

How many GenX stations are left and how long until 100.5 flips??

ONE thing we can count on, IF, 100.5 flipped, it won't be country like Oklahoma's Twister.  Great move in
Tulsa.  That's a market where 3 country's may survive.  Better move as country than Gen X.

C.C. did the same thing when the St. Louis Gen X changed formats.
