jAX AREAS SIGNAL CHANGE APPLICATIONS
« on: May 07, 2012, 12:20:39 PM »

WCRJ 88.1, WTRJ 91.7 and WAYL 91.9 have all applied to modify their signals slightly across northeast florida. WCRJ will slightly modify its signal by upping its HAAT from 151 to 194 meters and staying directional at 8kw.

WTRJ 91.7 is looking to eliminate its null towards St Augustine's 91.9 with its application and in the process WAYL 91.9 is applying to add a null towards Jacksonville.

I wish WOKV would do as its sister station in Orlando. WDBO did, and replace one of its copy-cat 100kW music stations it owns with a more powerful WOKV-FM.. and keep it stereo. WDBO-FM sounds SO good!  However, I think Jax is too small a market for a 100kW News-Talk FM.

While I realize market size DOES have an impact on the potential revenue dollars available, the sound and size of a market the size of Jacksonville is only as small, or as large, as the managers and programmers make it!   Wink  Happy Mother's Day!

I dont see a reson to keep a format like that in Stereo. It only applies to beds for news, traffic, weather when its local and local camersials.
