They should have beat reporters out all the time. You can't just rely on voicers from reporters inside the station or from the tv partnership.
The All News Format works in big cities when the station devotes the time and resources to covering stories that will appeal to the listener. You have to think out of the box. There are so many places online to go these days for news.
Just my opinion, but there are ways for this station to stand out if they can be creative.

Flight 106.7. Clear.

Everybody says they hate Cumulus. Well, they did just launch an almost perfect All-News station in the ATL. Now that takes some skill. #GoMcVayAndDickey

Sorry, I posted something utterly stupid, that I just figured out. Is Gregory J Picciano, Greg Talmage? According to facebook, he is the traffic reporter from 4am-noon.

I had more of a chance to listen over the past couple of days and I'm liking what I hear. I was concerned that it was going to be kind of HLN-ish..repeating stories a little too often. I like the interaction between the hosts in the morning.

This morning, they had an interview with a DOT guy about the rework of traffic flow at some road ( ?). I enjoyed hearing that. It is real information.

OK, here's my suggestion: Please do a bit more tweeting. I know that they're focusing on the on-air product right now and can't do much in the way of content-related tweets; however, they can certainly do more promotional tweets. Also, they should start following at least a few folks--especially their content providers/partners (Fox 5, the Atlanta Business Chronicle, and ABC News Radio), official accounts for local government, and the local Patch editors (e.g., http://twitter.com/#!/MariettaPatch). And, to take it one step further, maybe they should create a separate account for traffic (like WTOP).

This morning, they had an interview with a DOT guy about the rework of traffic flow at some road ( ?). I enjoyed hearing that. It is real information. Not just some road. Ashford Dunwoody and I-285. The only worse spot is the I-285 & I-85 interchange. I too enjoyed the interview. It was a good think on their part to get him. Now, I am as concerned as the others that so far we have not heard one single reporter live from the field. We have heard Fox 5 reporters and we have heard reporters covering from the News Desk (or whatever they called it), but not one report from an All News 106.7 from the field. Do they really plan on Fox 5 doing all of their field reporting? That may be okay for now, but it will not cut it during breaking news. When a plane crashes in town or a bomb blows something up, the audio from the Fox 5 broadcast will not cut it. And, that cannot be the first time a reporter goes in the field. A good reporter gets stories because people know him/her. So, I wonder what All News 106.7's thinking is on this? Clear.

If you listen to all news stations across the country like WINS, WTOP and WBBM, you will hear radio reporters out in the field all the time. They cover everything! There are reporters assigned to spot news, city hall, the police and fire department, school board. The list goes on and on.
I think the anchors on 106.7 sound good.

I think that they will do in-field reports. They are apparently buying news vans this week, and there are many "News staff" that we have yet to hear. BTW, there was an in-field call-in report from Andrew Nelson from the Dekalb County School Board Mess meeting.

I was starting to talk back to the traffic reporter every time he said CLEAR.
