Bourdain exiting Travel Channel for CNN
« on: May 29, 2012, 12:39:40 PM »

A little surprising, but Anthony Bourdain is exiting Travel Channel for CNN. Apparently, CNN wants to focus more on lifestyle programs during the weekend and Bourdain is going to start up a show similar to No Reservations that will air Sunday nights and repeat on Saturday.

though with their massive struggles, it makes sense for CNN to reach out to somebody
who already has a following

@Freddy: Isn't that why CNN hired Piers Morgan?  Embarrassed

If there's enough money in it, Bourdain wins.

He got mad at the management of the Food Network when he was there and jumped to the Travel Channel. When Food's parent bought a majority interest in Travel channel I knew he would be leaving as soon as his contract was out. I just wasn't figuring on CNN as his landing zone...

All that on-air trashing of Rachel Ray was about to come back and bite him in the rear, eh?
