They are getting beat by The Brew, and I'm sure the targeted demographics have to be similar. It is time for something to change. I've tried to listen in the past, but it's hard to suffer through 6+ minutes of back-to-back commercials. One evening I clocked 8 mins worth in one break.

Last year I asked the management why so long minutes of back-to-back commercials.
They told me they are programing the station for the PPM world now but that explanation went way above my head. Besides, it doesn't appear to be working for Q96 very well.

I give a lot of credit to Daddy Wags.  He started at Q-FM back in the mid-70s so he's been in the CMH market for 35 plus years.  Andrea Cambern was only around for about 20 years and look at the send off she received from 10 TV.
I listened to them (back in the day) when it was John Fisher, Daddy Wags and Fran Kovak (I think that was her name).  From what I recall, it was funny as hell.  Remember the Breakfast Clubs at Bernie's downtown?
Then Fran left and replaced by J. J. Jeffries.  I thought "Oh no, there goes the show!".  J. J. fit right in and it was still great.
Then John Fisher left and again I thought "Oh no, there goes the show!".  Pat Still came in and he too fit right in and it was still great.  Then Pat Still left, not sure when, but I quit listening to them in, oh, the early 90s I think.
John Fisher originally headed to Chicago, then came back for a short period of time, then left again.  Don't know where he is today.  I believe Pat Still is in San Diego, or was there for a while.
Anyone know whatever happened to Fran Kovak or J. J. Jeffries?
Best of everything, Daddy Wags.

Fisher's been at KMTT The Mountain in Seattle for awhile.  Great station, and Fisher's a great talent.  Some more background on Fisher:

My bad.  Pat Still is at KNCI in Sacramento.  Country?  I think he's been there a while.
Thanks for the info on John.

It's really never been that good since The Pat and Wag's days! (Personal opinion)

I liked the Wags morning show in its various incarnations until they paired him with Jerry Elliott

But that when it became the "Wags show," no?  Until he was paired was Elliot, wasn't Wags always in a sidekick role?

Yes it was always Pat and Wags, John and Wags  after John Fisher left the station for the second time, wags didn't want to be the second man anymore after being there so long and it became Wags and Elliot.

and i agree to me wags is a better sidekick than a lead man, but you know 20+ years he must be doing something right.

I have never really listened to Wags.. but to have 20 + years in this market.. I don't recall anyone else with such staying power except Bob Conners at WTVN... Kudos to a long career for Wags.. That's not seen today in radio.
