Personally, Clear Channel made the right move in flipping KBWX to Rhythmic Top 40 as a way to protect KSLZ, and to quell any possible rumors about KYKY flipping to Top 40 down the line. If they execute it right KBWX and the Rhythmic format will have a great future in St. Louis.

I hope so, STL is a fickle market.

HOT97 was in the very very very early 90's and music 20 years ago (the rhythmic genre) was not even close to what we would had called HOT97.
HOT97 was simply a CHR that played the top hits of that era that seemed to begin playing more dancy tunes.

The KMJM call letters have now officially moved to 100.3; 104.9 takes on the old "Brew" callsign KBWX; remaining with a "K" call sign even though licensed to Columbia, IL...

When Jacor bought 104.9 back in 1997, they had to temporarily flip the call letters of 1600AM to KMJM so that they could have the "K" call letter on the Illinois licensed station that was formerly known as WCBW.
