93.1 FM is going to be the new WACV Talk station, once it signs on.
The parked WGMP calls are moving over to the AM 1170/104.9 FM spot, after 93.1 FM hits the airwaves.
That info was just revealed by Mr. Gower, not too long ago.
Gower has an agenda that is decidedly 'Bluewater friendly'. He could be making stuff up, or he could actually be in the know. Or, quite possibly, he could be in the know enough to resort to 'blowing smoke for a smokescreen'. Either way, I think his eyes are red. I'd still watch out for 107.9 or 93.1.

I can tell that it will be WDXX.
I'm saying this because Mr. George Henry isn't on as often, doing the commercial spots.
When they do the weather reports, Mr. Henry is no longer telling the people who's supporting this hour's forecast.
One can only assume that he's been laid off and/or soon will be.
The sound quality hasn't been up to snuff lately.
Too much music, more than the legally required station ID's per hour and not that many commercial spots.
Been noticing these things over the past few days now.
It looks like WDXX is finally bailing out on Selma and moving to the cow pastures of Lowndes county within the next few weeks.
The signs are pointing in that direction.

P.S. Even WHBB has been experiencing problems with their uplink to Rush. They've been having moments of dead air, during his program. This is leading me to believe that either WHBB is fixing to get sold to someone else and/or this station will go silent for good. Now if Mr. Reynolds were going to hang on to WHBB, he would fix that issue with Rush. Since it has occurred over the past few days and no one seems to care about fixing it, that's the only logical conclusion I can come up with.

Nate, the 93.1 information is fact. Announcements of the slide down the dial from 107.9 to 93.1 will begin 8/1. Airdate 9/1. That is fact. It is not a secret. The staff and talk hosts have been told. Alexander already has a deal in place for 107.9. He can tell all of you what it is if he so chooses. No agenda here other than facts. That rimshot is a turd in a cowfield. A stand alone in Montgomery (even a half assed cluster) won't bill 500k per year. Mr. Mike has been fed a bill of goods by Jones. It ain't 1994 anymore. You can buy 1000 commercials on Cumulus for $1400. I've seen the package. What's Dixie gonna get, 50 cents? This whole idea is bizarre. And to go in debt 1,000,000 is foolhardy at best - but hey, it's Mikes money. He can do with it as he pleases.

Again, I'm amazed you know the deets on what 93.1 will be busy with, but not 107.9. How much do you really know, if you know?

Nate, I know exactly what 107.9 will do, but it's not my station, nor my place to publicize it. The Scott Alexander can do that if he wants. The 93.1 information is acurate. It is public information, and many in te business is aware of it. Take it to the bank. NewsTalk 93.1 debuts September 1 with the exact same lineup as 107.9 (unless there is a major engineering screwup).

Should my wish not happen and WHBB were to be put up for sale, I might entertain the thought of pursuing it.
Talking with various people, to see if they would like to help me get this 1000 watt standalone and then do something with it.
Even my friend from Moody Radio South advised me to buy this facility, should Reynolds decide to dump it.
I would like for this station to go silent but if I could snag it, man that would be exciting to me.
Already have some possible plans for this station, should things work out and I'm able to get it.
And yes I will even entertain the thought of getting a FM translator rebroadcast for fill in purposes and to help market this station better.
Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted.

P.S. Hope the new 93.1 FM Newstalk station will do very well, once you get it going Mr. Gower. Also hope 107.9 FM will have continued success, once the new format is in place.

Just got the word from Mr. Al Stroh himself that WDXX will more than likely become a Classic Country type of station, with a sports talk show mixed in during the middays, once they move to the moo cow pastures in northern Lowndes county.
Now some are asking why him? We was talking about my possible dream. Things may be working out for me after all. Let's just say that me and Mr. Stroh are working on a way to bring CCM to Selma, without the need for me to get WHBB.
Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted.

This will not be a factor in Montgomery unless it gets translator help (or 107.9). Slightly stronger signalled WALX barely shows up in the last ratings provided on this site. As for 93.1, there is a facebook page for what its worth.

Hotseat,
the FCC strictly prohibits using a translator by a licensee to "extend coverage". The 60db signal of the translator must be within the 60db contour of the primary FM. A third party can rebroadcast an FM in extended coverage, but cannot charge rent or receive any other direct $$ from the primary FM. Not sure why any translator owner would do that in this day of AM and HD on translator service. You are correct - mr. Mike is trying to have his cake and eat it too with this turd in a cow field.
Oh, and btw, interesting reading can be found at the bottom of his construction permit. Seems Mr. Mike must move an FM down south, and create a new AM in Luverne BEFORE he can even program test. Done in July - not likely.
