Pat Demaris would be a good choice I suppose - does he do any light topics, or is he all politics? I like a varied diet...well, actually I would prefer all light stuff.

I still say Phil Hendrie would be a good move.

I though she was going to continue as part of the new "Boston Public Radio Show" that will be in the 12-2p slot (and rerun later...) Maybe she won't be on as often but I think she'll still be part of it

my guess is she's going to enjoy a long hot summer in the adirondacks and then be one of a number of contributors on BPR

Schedule is unclear but it appears Dean is on Thurs,Fri., Mon, Tues.

Leaders uncertain but Morgan IMO is frontrunning for a few reasons that have nothing to do with his broadcasting talents (per se). I would think he'd improve his chances if  his conversational skills were pumped up  and he reduced his reliance on guests. I know it's a long 5 hours but he knows a lot of stuff he could do a lot of things.
Please no appearances from those entrepreneurs from that other station.

The poster who wanted Desmaris: do you listen to his fill-in work? The guy takes a wedge issue and just milks it for hours. It's always the same thing. WBZ overnight isn't the Midnight Truckers Radio Network where he'd (Pat) feel more at home.

I could "get on board" with Morgan more IF he would not play his favorites so much. There are a select few callers that IMO bring next to nothing to the show, yet he will give them 18-20 minutes, even hold them over breaks, and if that isn't enough will permit them to call multiple times during the week.  Roll Eyes

In my gut I feel that 'BZ may cease to be the mighty beacon in the night that it once was.

Oh for the days of Larry Glick... Smiley

I would think that Morgan White, Jr. is the leading candidate, given that the overnight show on WBZ-1030 has traditionally (except in times of "transcendent" news events) been "light" and entertaining and not as "hard" or political as the station's evening talk shows.

However, whoever gets the job on a full-time basis might not be determined until September.
