TIO: WHIO loses Boortz to retirement
« on: June 08, 2012, 05:59:10 AM »

Herman Cain used to have an evening program in Atlanta on WSB, which was widely heard in these parts.  He had to quit it to run for President.  He was, indeed, very entertaining, humorous and enlightening.

The liberal media is 'reporting' that Cain entered the presidential race intending to end up with a show. Apparently life begins when they notice you.

I lived in one of Boortz's markets for a time, and listened a little.

I like him when he "goes off the reservation", and isn't just parroting Republican Party talking points.* The stuff about legalizing pot especially makes some of the typical conservative talk radio listeners nervous.

Is Boortz still a capital-L Libertarian? I thought I read somewhere that he left the party.

* - And for the record, this moderate can't stand it when liberal talk show hosts parrot Democratic Party talking points.  It's not good radio either way.

Cain did it to get a book Deal. as why would he need a radio show when he had to give up his local atlanta show to run for PResident in the first place. and was from what i heard out of the atlanta board. Cain was always intended to replace Boortz when he retired if cain hadnt quit to run for president.

Boortz loves to "tweak the noses" of any group of people who have a message to express in ways that is over the top.  Yes, sometimes  seemed to be throwing rocks and Christianity,  but if you stayed with his explanation without loosing your cool, you soon realized he was just making life hard for people who do a cheap, shoddy presentation of their faith.  Boortz tends to be and "equal opportunity employer" of lampooning folks.

BUT,  there are a few topics which he seems to have serious feelings about where he also can be lampooned.

Except Clinton wrote his first book after becoming President. I will give the GOP credit for having the most ridiculous front runners ever this year. I mean come on, Donald Trump?
