May Book

No big changes.  PPM is definitely stable.  Is that because listening is stable or because there is little change in the panel month to month?   WARM is tops overall in 6+, but is not very strong anymore in key demos.  KISW owns men in virtually every demo in prime dayparts 6a-7p Monday through Friday.  KPLZ owns women in virtually every demo in same prime dayparts.  No real change in prime.   KUOW is tops in mornings in adult prime demos.  KISW in men and KPLZ in women prime demos in mornings.

Wolf is well ahead of KMPS.  KIRO ahead of KOMO.    Not much change from April or March.  Steady and dull.
KMTT changes didn't do much this year. KMPS changes didn't do much either  Saw in trades that KLCK is starting over with a new airstaff and maybe a new format.  How many times can a station relaunch in two years?  Wonder if Smooth Jazz will come back to 98.9.

Very tough for a new station to take hold in PPM in Seattle.

The unfortunate thing about SJ is that it probably won't happen again in Seattle. The PPM will ruin the station in six months. Remember KWJZ and how they went from top 10 to almost the black hole at the end of the format due to PPM?

I would probably expect "Alternative Talk 98.9 KKNW" before Smooth Jazz. It's unfortunate.

Copy/paste this assessment ad infinitum.

I'm not sure why we need to start a new thread every month a ratings book comes out? Yes, in the diary system it would make sense, but why now when nothing is changing? Seriously, just start a thread with the subject changes I expect and just discuss KLCK and KMPS? If they put KKNW on 98.9 it probably would get lower ratings than KLCK does, plus Sandusky isn't making any more money by simulcasting mostly brokered talk on 98.9. Probably wouldn't get any money but would serve a nitch market, put the South Asian programming on 92.5 hd3 on 98.9.

Because most of the armchair quarterbacks here do not have access to detailed PPM information.
