What is the status of this station? I heard they are selling. Has it been sold?

That appears to be the eventual consensus... However, recently, I saw that the secretary of the Family Radio programming department (who, ironically, is also named Judy) was questioned about a possible WFME sale around the time of ESPN rumored to get an FM signal (which, of course, turned out to be 98.7), and she said there was no imminent sale at the time.

The new doomsday is December 21, 2012, so maybe they'll wait till then to sell 94.7. They have to warn everyone about December 21.

The station was converted to a commercial license from a non-commercial license, so it's only a matter of time.  The company doesn't appear to be in a rush, though.

@Nick: I thought Family vowed not to warn listeners about "the end of the world" after the previous debacles last year. And besides, since 12.21.12 is not a Family-contrived doomsday, I doubt they'll have any interest in drumming up awareness for it.

If WFME is not currently selling why did they convert to a commericial license ?

Who says they aren't?  Sometimes, these things take time.  Actually, these things always take time.  It'll happen.

It took about 7 months for WKDN to convert to commercial till the sale was announced.

1) A total apples-to-oranges comparison.  Different markets, different players in the markets, and most importantly, a big difference in signal penetration over the desired population center.

2) Even if we did use that arbitrary measuring stick, it's been 4 months since the conversion to commercial operation was approved.
